Our second trip up to McNeil Point in two weeks, this time making it past and above the shelter. It was a much easier hike this time (not as hot and better conditioned). Once again it was a beautiful day and the views were spectacular! We saw Mt. Hood up close and personal and in the distance could see Mt. Adams, Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens! We live in such an awesome place to have all of this within our reach. Training for our upcoming Mt. St. Helens climb is going great!
A place for family and friends to keep up with my passion for walking... among other things!

Dog Mountain - Sunset Hike
Sunset hike up Dog Mountain. Now that you have to have a permit to climb it on the weekends, week night hikes might be my new thing on Dog! Even though it's the end of June (oh, and it's my daughter's birthday... HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MISSY!) it was cold and windy at the top. This was my first time to hike down in the dark... my headlamp just wasn't enough. Next time I'll bring along a flashlight. The sunset was beautiful!
