Today is my daughter's 23rd birthday. Where has the time gone?!

Cast + Water = Skin Maceration (painful and disgusting!)

I have a 24-hour break from the cast and now have an awkward boot to wear. Went in for a cast change only to discover the bottom of my foot was in pretty bad shape from being wet for too long. It hurts a lot and looks VERY nasty. (Much too nasty to take a picture of it! - So gross I wanted to gag!) Guess I'm not doing so well on keeping the water out. I feel like a careless child because this is the second time I have had water issues with my cast. Now I have to let my foot air dry for 24 hours.

I can't believe I'm losing so much muscle so quickly. It took a lot of walking to build it and in four weeks it is nearly gone. It feels so weak. I have 3 more weeks to go. :(

On a positive note, my foot doesn't seem to hurt too much when moving it around. I hope after all this is over and done, there will be some major improvement!
