Saddle Mountain & Ecola State Park

Today Lidia and I ventured over to the Oregon Coast and hiked up Saddle Mountain. I've been wanting to do this hike for a while now. It's an out and back hike, 5 miles and almost 2000 feet elevation gain. The day was far from clear so we couldn't see much but as always, we had a great time… even with the wind and sleet at the top! On a clear day you can see the Pacific Ocean in one direction and Mt. Hood in the other. We were lucky to see 10 feet in front of us as we were socked in with the heavy cloud cover and occasional downpour. Every so often I would get a glimpse of the beauty surrounding us so now I must go back on a clear day and do it again! J

After finishing the Saddle Mountain hike, neither of us felt like we had done enough! I know… crazy, right?! We drove to Ecola State Park and went on a 3.5 mile hike. It was later in the day and the sun came out. We were dressed in our cold weather gear so the heat made it challenging... not to mention the steep terrain to get down to the beach and then back up.  By the time we finished this hike we had had ENOUGH!

It was another awesome day spent outside with my Adventure Sister, Lidia. Such fun!

Bells Mountain

Bells Mountain... another favorite hike of mine! It's not too far from home, does not require a hiking permit, and it gives you a great workout.

The river where we stopped to have lunch. Beautiful.

My new boots! :)
