Top Spur Trail... Timberline Trail... Eden Park... Lots of Exploring!

The day started out wet, foggy and cool but eventually turned to sunny and warm. My adventure sister and I decided to hike up to the Shelter in preparation for my upcoming trip around Mt. Hood (needed elevation gain). This is another one of my favorite go-to trails when I want a workout with great rewards (awesome views!). Top Spur Trail over to the Timberline Trail and up to the Shelter via the Climber's Route (which is a badass STEEP shortcut). After eating lunch at the Shelter and admiring the beautiful mountain views and flowers, we headed across and back down to the Timberline Trail. We turned and hiked down to Eden Park, a meadow with a stream running through it. The flowers were long gone but the meadow was beautiful and inviting. We sat there enjoying the sunshine before heading back UP to the Timberline Trail and back down to the Top Spur Trailhead. Between our hiking and our stops, we spent 7 hours and 45 minutes out on the trail today! Now I call THAT a GREAT DAY spent outside!  11.13 miles, 3475 elevation gain.
