Old Stone House

THIS! THIS IS AMAZING!! What a great find!! This is an old stone house dating back to the mid to late 1800's. When I tried to research it I found a lot of conflicting information as to who built it, when, who lived in it over the years, etc. It's an amazing find but unfortunately there are always those disrespectful people who have to paint graffiti on property that doesn't belong to them and those that just have to destroy things. Hopefully the owners of the land will eventually find a way to preserve what's left of this very old unique home. They might want to start with "no trespassing" signs but I'm sure glad to have viewed it before that happened! It's very, very cool to see! I can't even imagine the lives lived in this home! Wow. So cool.

Gillette Lake on the PCT

Today's plan was to sit on the couch... do nothing... but that's just not me! I felt like hiking but wanted it to be an easy stroll. This was the perfect trail for me today. We started at the Bonneville Trailhead on the Tamanous Trail and took the PCT to Gillette Lake. I stopped a gazillion times to take pictures of flowers, ferns, the trail, the lake, a snail, fungi, and whatever else caught my attention (bear poo, cat poo, and some other kind of poo too!). Sometimes I stopped just to stop! It was a perfect, casual day in the forest... and so much better than sitting on the couch!
