Moonlight Snowshoe

After being sick for three weeks (my first real cold in over five years!), I was finally able to don my favorite footwear and get back outside. My first hike of 2020! Woohoo! (Yes, I’m doing another 52 hike challenge this year and I’m already behind!) I went on a moonlight snowshoe hike … without the moonlight! ;) The clouds were low and heavy but that didn’t stop us from having a great time! However, IT WAS DARK. We had dinner in Government Camp and then took the Mt. Hood Express Shuttle up to Timberline Lodge. From there we snowshoed back down dropping over 2000 feet in elevation. The snow was soft and deep - perfect for our snowshoeing adventure! It was too dark to take many pictures but I snagged a few just to document the experience.

Here’s to another great upcoming year of hiking!

2020 Hike 1/52
3.51 miles; 2066 feet of elevation loss (that’s a switch!)
