Goat Rocks Wilderness

I finally made it into the Goat Rocks Wilderness! I've always heard about it and wanted to go but it's a four hour drive from home so not a place you just decide on a whim to go explore. My adventure sister Lidia and I made a plan and headed out there on Friday after work so we could hit the trail early Saturday morning. We spent Friday night in the back of my vehicle (I've always wanted to do that! Weird, I know. Glad I got that out of my system because it's sooooo not comfortable. haha).

Saturday we hiked in the rain, sleet, and snow. It was extremely wet and cold with torrential downpours. We set up our tents in the rain and then went exploring up higher just to keep moving and try to stay warm. Up higher it was snowing!

It was an early night to bed with howling winds and heavy rain. Sunday morning we woke up to frozen water (zippers, clasps, and boot laces too!) and BEAUTIFUL CLEAR BLUE SKIES!

More exploring on icy snow with crazy wind before packing up and heading back down the mountain. The weather was crazy and almost intolerable at times but the trip was awesome! I loved it!
